E.P: Sir briefly introduces yourself?
Ans: My name is Segun Awe, The President of AFRITONAS LLC. A native of  Aiyetoro Ekiti

E.P: Tell us how you started music?
Ans: I started music at a tender age, I play drums at school, church and also play drums for masquerade in my village, I started playing as a professional when I left Ibadan to Lagos. I left primary school in  Ibadan with Dosumu Omoleye, left Ibadan for 
Lagos and started playing








with Dele show for a month after which I joined chief commander Ebenezer Obey then I left for school of music in London for two years after which I came back to record my first album called “My Survival” in 1982.

E.P: What is the name of your band and how many are you?
Ans: My first band name was Segun Awe and his African stars connection playing juju music. I launched my second name “Segun Awe”. Afritonas with four albums to our credit we are 10 piece band.

E.P: What inspires you?
Ans: Nothing inspires me because I am a born again.

E.P: Tell us important event in the life of your musical career?
Ans: The launching of my band in 1990.

E.P: Any new album from you and your band?
Ans: Yes we have two albums coming up soon
“Commandment” and “New wave”.

E.P: How can your fans get the album?
Ans: When the album is released my fans can get it from Afritonas distributors which will be published soon.

E.P: Your message to your fans?
Ans: I am coming out with a great sound of 21st century and my fans should be ready to get their copies In order to promote African music to the world Afritonas music is of the root, the best image.

E.P: Briefly introduce yourself
Ans: I am Adebowale Folasayo Benedicta stage name “AYANFOLA”, a female 
Drummer, trained Nurse who also construct African drums.












E.P: How exactly did you develop the interest for drumming?
Ans: The passion started when I was a chorister in my church for three years and I was unable to act well like my peers due to my distorted masculine voice so I choose talking drum instead of being an empty barrel in the church.

E.P: Do you have a band of your own if yes what is the name of the band and how many are you?
Ans: Yes I have one it’s named “Ayanfola and the Aare of culture Troupe”, We are up to fifteen.

E.P: Tell us some performances you have done?
Ans: The first Nigerian Drum Festival now African Drum Festival along with the Ogun state Troupe and also the Association of Professional Drummers Ogun state chapter 2016, I performed at the Yoruba youth national summit, the National museum day at Muson centre, African Drum Festival 2018, Also Lagos State Tourism summit, I did the opening by playing the National anthem on the talking drum alongside Dare Art Alade, I equally performed at Senate President Bukola Saraki’s daughter’s wedding in Abuja with the party people, I was at Asale Asa night in Ijebu ode, I also performed at Ijebu Man of the year award. Ayan Day at Tai Solarin University at the induction ceremony of cultural and creative arts student,, MOCFED Epe Lagos state and so on.

E.P: How do you get funding?
Ans: In the first place I do everything without no ones help even till now but with few material things but few of my members do.

E.P: Any new project from you?
Ans: Am planning on a drum in a art like project soon

E.P: What is your projection for the next five years?


Ans: To have a museum full of drums though presently I have a drum store and workshop.
